New Saga

New Saga (or Tsuyokute New Saga) is a Japanese high-fantasy multimedia franchise centered around a prominent "regression" or time-travel storyline. It follows a magic swordsman who travels back in time to prevent a devastating war between humanity and demons. Originally starting as a light novel series written by Masayuki Abe, it has since expanded into a popular manga and an anime television series.

Core Premise

The core premise of Tsuyokute New Saga revolves around a "New Game Plus" style time-loop and redemption quest where a dying hero is sent back in time to rewrite a tragic future. The story opens at the climax of a brutal, world-ending war between humanity and demonkind. The protagonist, a magic swordsman named Kyle Leonard, leads an elite squad to storm the Demon King's stronghold. 

Kyle successfully slays the Demon King, but the victory is entirely hollow. Everyone is dead. Kyle’s family, friends, comrades, and lovers have all been slaughtered over the course of the invasion. The world is ruined. Earth is a burning hellscape with half of the human population wiped out. Kyle is dying. Bleeding out and on the brink of death in the empty throne room, he has nothing left to protect.

As his life fades, Kyle notices a mysterious crimson artifact coveted by the Demon King, the Divine Dragon Heart. Upon touching the gemstone, a blinding light erupts, and Kyle wakes up four years in the past. He finds himself trapped inside his younger, weaker teenage body, but he retains all of his future memories, combat experiences, and knowledge of upcoming historical events.

Realizing he has been granted a second chance, Kyle vows to use his "foreknowledge" to systematically alter history. Rather than just grinding to become physically stronger, his new mission relies heavily on strategy. 

He uses high-level techniques he shouldn't know yet to rapidly rebuild his strength. He tracks down future heroes, companions, and powerful assets before the war even starts to alter their destinies. He aims to strategically prepare the world, outmanoeuvre political betrayals, and stop the demon war before humanity can be pushed to the brink of extinction.

• Kyle Leonard (Kail): The main protagonist. A magic swordsman who defeated the Demon Lord in the original timeline but lost all his comrades. On the verge of death, he touched a dragon artifact and traveled four years back into the past to change the future.
